UPC holders can view and confirm LTM activity on the UPCX block explorer and vote for LTMs they trust.
Based on the combined UPC balance of all UPC holders that voted for a specific LTM, this LTM receives voting points that can be used in the Witness election.
During Witness election, the UPCX consensus algorithm selects the highest ranked LTMs in order of voting points by maintenance interval. The default maintenance interval is set to 24 hours.
The selected LTMs become Witnesses and are responsible for block generation during this maintenance interval.
Block generation rewards are sent to the respective Witness, with 50% of the reward being distributed further down to the UPC holders that voted for the LTM in first place.
