Get ready, swimming fans! The World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) are just on the horizon and will showcase your favourite athletes and rising swimming stars. This year, World Aquatics and blockchain payment sponsor UPCX are bringing you closer to the action, allowing you to vote to help recognise standout performances across the 2024 World Aquatics Swimming season through a digital fan engagement initiative powered by UPCX's industry-leading blockchain technology.

At this year’s World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) – Budapest 2024, World Aquatics and UPCX are having fans help choose the male and female UPCX Breakout Athletes from the 2024 World Aquatics Swimming season.
From 10-14 December, fans can vote on the UPCX Fan Engagement App (download here) for shortlisted athletes who have made a surprise or breakthrough performance at either the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2024 or Swimming Championships (25m) in Budapest.
The shortlist will feature athletes who are entirely new on the international scene as well as those who have performed solidly over previous years, now taking a significant step forward to the elite.
The World Aquatics Swimming Championships (25m) marks the grand finale of an extraordinary year that includes the World Aquatics Championships in Doha, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup. This season culminates with an exciting fan-driven initiative celebrating breakout swimming performances. The top male and female breakout athletes will each be awarded a prize of USD 10,000 during a special ceremony before the final session of the competition in Hungary’s vibrant capital, Budapest.
World Aquatics Executive Director Brent Nowicki welcomed the initiative:
